REGULAR CARE
At Bark and Steel, we design our furniture to adapt seamlessly to its surrounding conditions, although there may be some naturally occurring cracking or movement. This is a normal response to the furniture's environment.
Our oak furniture is meticulously finished with a pigmented premium Rubio Monocoat. One of the advantages of this finish is that it helps prevent stains from easily penetrating the wood. However, it is important to note that this does not provide an absolute guarantee against stains. Should a spill occur, it is recommended to promptly remove it.
For regular maintenance, simply dust the furniture with a dry and slightly damp cloth. In the event of cleaning or a spill, use a damp cloth and natural soap, wiping in the direction of the wood grain. Avoid using soaps that contain detergents or other chemicals. Finally, dry the surface with a soft cloth to prevent any spotting.
If you would like to purchase an all-purpose cleaner for regular use, we would recommend purchasing Rubio Monocoat Surface Care.
THROUGH CARE
To protect the furniture's surface, we always suggest using coasters, mousepads, or placemats to prevent damage from daily use or heat. Additionally, it is advisable to periodically move objects such as flowerpots or vases to avoid potential marking caused by excess moisture. Ensure any excess water or dampness is promptly wiped dry.
If you need to refresh and rehydrate the surface, we recommend using Rubio Monocoat Maintenance Oil. This product revitalizes the wood, slightly reinforcing the original protective coating. However, it is important to note that this does not provide a guarantee against stains.
REFRESHING THE SURFACE
For more thorough care, the original coating may require renewal over time. In such cases, we suggest a light sand and either a coat of the original Rubio Monocoat stain or just a coat of Rubio Monocoat Maintenance Oil.
If there is discoloration, stubborn stains, or a superficial scratch, it is advised to first sand the entire surface. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying the Rubio Monocoat. Spread the product evenly, removing any excess to prevent spotting after drying.
